Make your own wooden keychains with these free source files and feel like the 90’s are back.
90’s are becoming the new 80’s – an ultimate source of retro tech and vintage gadgets to make you stand out in the crowd. With that in mind, one of our designers created a series of retro wooden keychains that you can manufacture yourself using the modern desktop CNC milling machine like ZMorph 2.0 SX multitool 3D printer.
Make your own wooden keychains
Boombox, cassette tape, gamepad, and classic GameBoy replica – you can download these designs for free from Designfutures and mill them yourself using CNC PRO toolhead for ZMorph 2.0 SX.
To manufacture these wooden keychains we used 6 mm thick plywood and 1.2 mm bit. Thinner bits would also work fine but don’t use thicker ones because you’ll lose the details on the objects. Other than that, we used standard settings in 3D milling workflow of Voxelizer software.
The wooden keychains can be easily duplicated in the software so you can manufacture several of them at the same time to save time and make the full use of the material. It’s useful especially to artists and designers wanting to manufacture small numbers of their products to sell them. Every object on the worktable can also be easily customized and engraved with names, numbers, or logotypes.
Expand your workshop with CNC milling
Objects CNC-milled using ZMorph 2.0 SX multitool 3D printer require only minor cleaning, which means that the machine is suitable to manufacture market-ready products. Additional interchangeable toolheads for 3D printing and laser engraving can only broaden the production capabilities of your workshop, while all these tools remain available within one machine to save your time and money.
