We created this model so you can manufacture your first 3D print in just a few easy steps.
For our new ZMorph 2.0 SX Multitool 3D Printer, we wanted to create an easily printable object, that could be fabricated within the first few hours, so you can quickly manufacture something cool and test your machine. You can see the entire process in the video below.
The idea for the first 3D print
But how did we come up with an astronaut? The idea for this model came up in our office after reading an article in The Verge stating:
This beautiful 3D printer belongs on a spaceship
And every spaceship needs an astronaut to operate it!
So, in a way, this model represents every ZMorph 2.0 SX user. You just need to make your first 3D print to feel like this brave astronaut operating your spaceship in a shape of a 3D printer.

Make it on ZMorph 2.0 SX
We prepared a detailed tutorial for all ZMorph users on how to prepare the machine and fabricate their first 3D print, which takes around 90 minutes.
You can also download the Brave Astronaut model for free from Designfutures repository.

Quality of those prints is terrible. How can you even post something like that here. Is it normal for Zmorph?
Why do you think they’re terrible?
For a 4,5 cm high objects, these present a nice level of detail, although not the full potential of the machine.
Have in mind that this model is rather simple, so it can be printed quickly by new users within first 90 minutes with the machine.
